Did Astghik MC do independent actions? Minister’s answer (video)
“Two weeks ago according to the decision of the Government reallocation of state funding for health sector was done, as a result of which AMD 280 million was provided for the patients with dialysis. It is intended for 11 000 sessions,” today after the Government session announced Minister of Health Levon Altunyan touching upon the recent case. To remind, a number of citizens held protest action outside of the building of the Ministry of Health; the leadership of “Astghik” medical center belonging to the family of the NA lawmaker Samvel Alexanyan warned the patients with dialysis that hereafter the dialysis service wouldn’t be free and each dialysis will cost AMD 18,100. According to the leadership of the medical center, the funding allocated to the medical center finished. In reply to the question by “A1+” whether it means that “Astghik” MC did independent actions by demanding money from the patients, the Minister answered, “Such inner issues relate to the relevant bodies, I am not engaged in such issues. As a Minister of Health I am concerned about the health of the population,” noted the Minister, adding that the rights of patients were recovered in a short period. The Minister thinks that both the society and the administration of the hospitals should be more interested in the legislative changes, “Now we are in the period of health reforms, we have mentioned for many times that transition phases will be difficult.” Watch details in the video!
