Concrete barrier deprived traders of daily bread (video)
Since early morning, traders in Gyumri’s central market have closed the area near the municipality, paralyzing traffic in Vardanants square for several hours. They started the protest after they found the two entrances to the market blocked by concrete barriers. The angered traders closed the road with trucks fully loaded with food and urged the city mayor to solve the problem immediately. They wanted to know why the market was closed and where they could sell the products because many earn their daily bread in that way. Hours later, the traders were allowed to enter the municipality and talk to Deputy Mayor Vagharshak Mkhitaryan. The latter promised to solve the problem immediately. A few minutes later the concrete barrier built near Liana fair was removed by special technique and the road was re-opened.
