Today Charles Aznavour Square has been overwhelmed with high spirits and excitement. Pupils from a number of border villages are selling their own handmade production.
Asya Tovmasyan, a pupil from Shirak marz Azatan village secondary school, together with her team is selling a purse and a pencil case made of cloth. “There are plastic bottles inside, which are covered with denim fabric. We didn’t throw away useless jeans so that we could use them later,” she told.
Karen Asatryan from Shirak marz Getk village secondary school together with his friends brought unique jewel boxes for sale. “They are made of pasta. We organized a meeting with the pupils and decided to make them using this material. We have already sold one jewel box.”
“We are presenting natural, pure honey, which is made in our village. There is also honey with nectar and also with beeswax. We have brought 12 containers and have sold 5 containers. We have a ready business plan and have been already involved in commerce,” said Lori marz Lernapar village secondary school pupil Erik Avetisyan.
The event entitled Fair of Pupils’ Business Companies has been organized by the Ministry of Science and Education and Junior Achievement of Armenia organization. It is symbolic that today an agreement has been signed between the Ministry of Education and Science and the organization, by which the cooperation between the parties will be prolonged until 2020. “It is a brilliant example how the NGO and the Ministry can work together and carry out useful projects for the society,” highlighted Minister of Science and Education Armen Ashotyan.
Armen Ashotyan and Founder and Head of Junior Achievement of Armenia Armine Hovannisian did shopping during the fair. “The production made by the pupils cannot be found anywhere else. They have made by themselves and with much love. The children of Khachik village gave cloth dolls to me and Raffi as a present. I think we are alike,” Mrs. Hovanissian told “A1+”. She considers the festival to be a big event, “The children have carried out market research since September. The biggest examination is to see how the production is sold in the capital city. I hope that the children will ensure more prosperous life for them and our country,” she highlighted.
