Diran Baghdadian, who was born in Lebanon and later lived in Austria, is surprised to hear the same question every time - why did he decide to settle in Armenia? “It was important for us to live in Armenia, to return and participate in the revival of the country,” he says. After moving to Armenia, Diran and his brother Pierre were engaged in chocolate business. Before moving to Armenia they studied the Armenian market very well and discovered that cognac and chocolates are very often given as presents in the country. The Baghdadian brothers made the decision to start a hand-made high quality chocolate production company and they have been in business for eight years. “We use simple techniques and make high quality chocolate,” says the businessman. Diran says his decision to move to Armenia had many important reasons; one of these was his ‘revenge answer’ to the Genocide perpetrators. “I want Turks to see that I am back founding a family to replace the one of my grandparents chased about 100 years ago. Now I feel that I have won them,” he said.
