The trial in the deadly road accident case involving well-known actor Vardan Petrosyan today continued in a court in Kotayk marz. Petrosyan was taken to jail in connection with the deadly road accident in October 2013 in which his BMW collided with another vehicle, Niva, on the Yeghvard-Yerevan highway. Two passengers of the Niva were killed in the crash. Petrosyan himself was among the injured people who were hospitalized that night. Petrosyan later declared that he would not run away from justice and was ready to bear responsibility if found guilty as charged. Participating in today’s court sitting were Petrosyan’s lawyers Zhirayr Cholakyan and Marie Loze, both citizens of France, who were accompanied by interpreter Hamik Khachatryan.  The latter said she had been invited by lawyer Nikolay Baghdasaryan.  Both the accusant and the judge said that only at the request of the body in charge of the criminal proceedings they can involve a new interpreter. In his speech, Vardan Petrosyan said he was ready to publicly apologize to the relatives of the victims and he fully understands their grief both as a parent and as a father. In reply, the relatives stretched out the photos of the dead boys. The judge has retired to the consultation room for discussion.
