Armenia's Ministry of Emergency Situations reports that the adverse weather conditions have led to the closure of Upper Lars highway on the Russian-Georgian border. Armenian citizens stranded on the Russian side of the border need food and warm clothing.

On Tuesday, the Ministry contacted Armenia's Embassy in Georgia to learn that Georgian Road Department was to start road cleaning works at 12.00 Dec. 26.

The Ministry also contacted the National Crisis Management Center of the Russian Federation and the Emergency Situations Department of North Ossetia. They informed the Armenian side that a camp had been set up for the stranded travelers. The camp offers hot food and resting points to the travelers.
