Armenian Ambassador to the Czech Republic Tigran Seyranyan attended on Sunday an event "They also had the right; they could and wanted to live and create," commemorating the 97th anniversary of the 1915 Armenian Genocide.
The event, held in Jihlava, the capital of Vysočina region in the Czech Republic, was organized by the "Urartu" Armenian-Czech Company.

Ambassador Seyranyan and head of the Armenian-Czech company Alexander Sargsyan laid flowers at a khachkar (cross stone) in one of the city's central parks.
The participants in the event observed observed a minute's silence in memory of the Genocide victims. It was followed by a requiem service and speeches by Tigran Seyranyan and Alexander Sargsyan in Holy Spirit church. The requiem mass was served by pastor of the Armenians in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary, Archimandrite Barsegh Pilavchyan.

Later, the presentees attended a photo exhibition on the Armenian Genocide.

The commemoration event ended with the screening of a film dedicated to the 97th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.
