THE STATEMENT OF THE COMMITTEE FOR FREE AND FAIR ELECTIONS IN ARMENIA

The newly established Committee for Free and Fair Elections in Armenia is inviting you to participate in a peaceful demonstration of protest, which will take place in front of the Armenian Mission at the UN, at 119 E. 36st Street, New York City, on Monday, March 3rd, 2003 from 5:00 - 7:00pm. This demonstration has been authorized by the 17th Precinct of the New York City Police Department.

We will demand guarantees for free and fair elections in Armenia, adherence to the Constitution of the Republic, and the release of all detained activists who had rallied against the blatant violations during the electoral process in Armenia.

We believe that this is the most serious crisis in our Republic since the Declaration of Independence of Armenia, and we cannot stay silent. We cannot afford to be inactive.

Please join us on Monday, to demand the upholding of the Constitution of the Republic and to demand the restoration of the Human and Civil Rights of the Citizenry of Armenia and her Electorate.
