ARMENIAN TOP OFFICIALS TO CRACK DOWN ON SMALL-SCALE CORRUPTION
Support A1+!Supreme Council parliamentary club’s head Ruben Torossyan speaking at today’s press conference said the club issued a statement criticizing the government’s anticorruption program.
The program is focused only on low- and middle-ranking officials while senior officials remain out of control, the statement says.
The councils’ members voiced their disapproval over the program in their statement saying lack of real approaches to the objective lessens the value of the program and jeopardizes democratization process in Armenia.
Torossyan said many proposals had been submitted for consideration, but one of them had been taken into account.
He urged the government to make reports on the course of the program implementation every month.
The council head also called on World Bank, who has financed the program working-out, to refrain from praising the results of the program and take it with full serioseness and responsibility.
