ARE THE AUTHORITIES GOING TO SHED BLOOD?

Politics

-Mr Gasparyan, Opposition boycotts Parliament sittings. Why don’t you being a MP in Opposition do that, too?

I participate in the boycott Opposition carries out. When Opposition starts fighting through meetings, I will be with it all the time. I will be in the center of any protest action in Yerevan. I will make people vote for me even if they don’t want to. I have something to say.

By the way, Authorities exacerbate the situation. They didn’t enter the amendments to the Law on Referendum on the agenda. Authorities feared that we would call upon people and bring them to their knees. It turns that they themselves pour oil on the flames.

Serj Sargssyan threatens with counter-attack against people who get prepared for protest actions: Authorities are going to shed blood. They won’t profit in case of bloodshed. It’s not now 1996. We weren’t a CE member then. Now they will be called to account for blood of each human being.

-Do you think that people are ready for power change?

-Now people are not ready for that. But the peak is drawing on. They will be inspired with the success of Opposition. Power will change this year, at least in autumn.

-Is Opposition ready for change of Authorities?

-Yes, Opposition grew wiser. It understood that no leader is needed. None of them enjoys high rating among the people. Let anyone who wishes, Arshak Sadoyan or Stepan Pemirchyan, put their candidacy for presidential post after getting rid of the present regime. No one will gain 50% of votes. If pressure of Authorities is excluded, we will assemble after the first round and decide who to back up in the second round.

One thing is clear: Kocharyan may gather 5%. But the guys of Opposition won’t win more than 15-20% of votes. People are to elect the leader.
