NO TO RUSSIA, YES TO NATO

”If Armenia really wants to become a democratic state, special presidential and parliamentary elections must take place here this year. As to development of foreign policy, Armenia must become a NATO member”, Hovhanness Hovhannissyan, Chair of Liberation Advanced Party, announced at the first conference of the party.

According to him, “the dominant of their party is that Armenia becomes a free and a democratic state”. But the political events here hamper that process: ”There is no electoral system institution in Armenia, the state management system is imperfect, there is no political elite and there are numerous shortcomings in the foreign policy”.

Mr Hovhannissyan is sure that Armenia has become the hostage of Russia so the future of the Armenian people is endangered. ”Russia has great political influence in our state. It can nominate or relieve the president. Russia and Armenia must be only strategic partners”.

Mr Hovhannissyan announced that after the Liberation Advanced Party is officially registered it will cooperate with all the parties in opposition.
