GENERAL PROSECUTOR SAYS THERE IS NO CORRUPTION IN PROSECUTOR OFFICE

Armenian Prosecutor General Aram Tamazyan said Friday too mitigated penalties are specified in Criminal Code for economic crimes.

Those individuals accumulating millions could face from 4 to 8 years in jail if convicted while in the past the same economic crime carried 7 to 12 years in prison.

The Prosecutor General denied allegations that the Prosecutor Office is the most corrupted structure among other ones. “There are some abuses, not corruption in the structure”, he said. “We spare no efforts to prevent the Office from growing into corrupted structure”, he added.
