The pre-election headquarters for Stepan Demirchyan held a press conference yesterday an hour before the voting final. Advocate Ashot Sargssyan informed the journalists that voting process passes through serious irregularities under tense atmosphere. Proxies for Demichyan, opposition members of committees, all those who didn’t allow committing outrages, were beaten.

Technologies that were used neither in the first round, nor during all the previous elections, were used this time. CEC Chairman and Secretary committed a crime. Ashot Sargssyan will appeal to Office of Prosecutor for demand on instituting a criminal case against them.

During the press conference, held later Grigor Harutyunyan, head for Demirchyan’s headquarters, and advocate Vartan Poghossyan introduced facts under which in many election centres where Demicrhyan won, committee chairs stooped calculation process and show the proxies the doors, making and threatening them. E.g, when in Ptghni village of Kotayk Province it turned out votes for Demirchyan were more that 450, calculation process was suspended and it was announced 5 votes only could be registered at best. Nevertheless, Demirchyan’s proxies in some election centres managed to prevent mass falsification at vote calculation. As a result of it, in Meghri for instance Stepan Demirchyan won 1668 votes and Robert Kocharyan 1151 ones.

At the conference at 12: 30 AM an information was received, saying in the polling station in N 170 school of Avan is leading by 400 votes. Seeing that the proxy and the opposition member of committee were trying to prevent falsification, committee chair together with members took them out by voting. If a committee member is taken out from the election centre, it’s a flagrant violation of Electoral Code. Conflict between the policemen and people near the polling district occurred. Shots were heard.

At the conference of PP the list of the people, unmercifully beaten, was represented.
1.N 1372 election centre: Tirun Hovhannissyan, was beaten in the polling station, now is in Gyumri hospital.
2. N 0255 election centre: Committee chair beat committee member of National Democratic Union at the attempt to prevent stuffing.
3. N 1688 election centre: Syunik village head beat Julietta Grigoryan.
4. N 0384 polling station: Stepan Demirchyan’s proxy was beaten in the election centre.
5. N 0004 election centre: Emma Karapetyan was beaten in the polling station.
6. N 0137 election centre: policemen beat Armenak Sargssyan and took him to IA Department.
7.N 0004 polling station: Committee chair and his deputy beat Alexandr Pirumov.
8. N 0991 election centre: A group of young men beat Arayik Grigoryan etc.
