DUAL CITIZENSHIP AS NECESSITY
Support A1+!The issue on dual citizenship was the topic of today’s seminar in National Press Club. As MP Shavarsh Kocharyan says, each Armenian must receive dual citizenship but to permanently live in Armenia He also thinks besides the right both for holding posts and voting, other rights and responsibilities, regarding other citizens of that country must apply to those having dual citizenship .
As Arshak Sadoyan thinks, dual citizenship is a necessary thesis . But he thinks, , it is impossible to provide legal equality of citizenship , i.e., it is impossible to serve Armies of 2 countries simultaneously, to pay taxes in 2 countries at the same time and to be elected for the posts of 2 countries.
Paruyr Hayrikyan, the Chair for Self-Determination Union, reminded those present if dual citizenship USA practices no discrimination between its citizens and those of other countries . But he also assures the issue of dual citizenship for Armenia is also a matter of national security, besides the one of human rights :
