GENERAL SIMONYANTS: NO NEWS ISN'T GOOD NEWS

Politics

Security General Edvard Simonyants, the member of “Liberated Territories Defence” organisation, saw after OSCE Minsk Group’s visit to the region that it has no new proposals and understands the delay in the Karabakhi conflict peace settlement process due to upcoming elections it is no longer possible to reject Key-West and Paris principles.

Objecting to Armenian Foreign Minister Vardan Oskanyan’s idea that everything is going on in the right way, as no new proposals were put forward, General Simonyants said Thursday at the organisation’s press conference that no news isn’t good news in this case.

It means the results of Armenian-Azeri war are being revised, the idea about lack of borders with Iran developed, Armenia and Artsakh turned into enclaves and international troops’ permanent presence in the republic will be imposed.

A number of Armenia’s public organisations share the republic leadership satisfaction with the situation. Ordinary citizens are either indifferent or deluded. The General is convinced that decisions are being made behind people’s backs. In his opinion, as the opposition doesn’t seriously discuss the issue and offer the alternative version, the republic authorities enjoy complete freedom to act at their own discretion.

“Liberated Territories Defence” public organisation and General Simonyants personally think it is their duty to provide people with comprehensive information about the ways for Karabakhi conflict settlement.
