The Sevan water level should increase

Lake Sevan will continue to be in danger if the Amusar gold mine is exploited. Today at a meeting with journalists, the former director of the Sevan National Park, the chief architect Gagik Sukhudyan said, listing other dangers. "Our rivers are in a catastrophic situation. 28 rivers flow into Sevan, the purest one is Arpa-Sevan, because it does not enter any village, and others only pollute the lake. The basin of Lake Sevan is also endangered with garbage, for a long time it has been necessary to build a garbage processing plant and obtain a high-quality fertilizer. It is profitable,"said Gagik Sukhudyan. According to Sukhudyan, no facilities were provided for on the site located from the district Sevan road to the lake, but now the lake is not visible: "There are three so-called objects that are built right on the banks of the Sevan. One of them is the hotel Sevan, Akhtamar and the oldest - Minutka. " The Sevan should increase with 6 meters, Gagik Sukhudyan says: "Prior to this mark, we have no right to provide land, and this was done, private property had a negative impact on Sevan." The former director of Sevan National Park Gagik Sukhudyan is also concerned about the removal of sewerage of large objects on the shores of Sevan. In his opinion, a large percentage of these waters flow into the lake: "This is a very serious issue. And the greening of Sevan's water is a consequence of lowering the water level. The water level should increase annually, the threshold is 1906 meters, today it is 1900 meters 25 centimeters," he said.
