Serzh Sargsyan meets with Indian President
Today, Serzh Sargsyan had a meeting with the President of the Republic of India, Ram Nath Kovind, in New Delhi. Serzh Sargsyan once again congratulated Ram Nath Kovind on his election as President of India and wished new achievements to India's prosperity. The President of Armenia considered the Indian food forum and exhibition so impressive. The official delegation of Armenia also took part in the opening of the exhibition. Touching upon the Armenian-Indian centuries-old friendship, Serzh Sargsyan noted that there are many references to the relations between the two nations in the works of historians. Many sources claim that Armenian and Indian merchants have established strong ties in the first millennium of our series and during the 16th century, a considerable number of Armenian communities have been formed in a number of major Indian cities, which have played an active role in the social and political, economic and cultural life of India. President Serzh Sargsyan thanked the Indian President and Indian people for their caring attitude toward the Armenian cultural heritage in India. Tomorrow, he will visit one of the sights of India in Agra, Taj Mahal. And the Armenian President noted with happiness that Armenian builders also participated in the construction of this magnificent monument. The President of India also congratulated his counterpart on the reforms in Armenia and the transition to a new state governance system, as well as the victory of the party led by the President of the Republic, wishing them success.
