Most residents of Armenia’s Armavir marz expect the political forces running in the April parliamentary elections to find a solution to the problems in the agricultural sector. The alliance set up by the Armenian National Congress (HAK) and its ally, People’s Party of Armenia (HZhK), today laid the main emphasis on agriculture during its campaign rally in Arevik village. More than 350 000 people in Armenia are engaged in agriculture. “Agriculture is in a miserable condition today, we seem to be living in primeval times. You do not have modern technology and machinery. You do not have greenhouses and markets,” said Vahagn Khachatryan, a parliamentary election candidate of the alliance. The alliance also presented its stance on the Karabakh issue. “Today, we do not only think about development; we are equally concerned about our salvation. If things continue in the same way, we will have thousands of human losses and destructions, we will also lose Artsakh. The preservation of Artsakh lies at the core of our platform. We offer you to answer the most important question on April 2. Is Armenia going to war, peace or development?” said Levon Zurabyan, another parliamentary candidate of the alliance.
