Eduard Nersisyan, one of the members of the criminal gang that was uncovered in a Yerevan district by Armenian law enforcement authorities in November 2015, remains in a critical condition seven months after suffering a stroke in prison. “He has weakness on the right side of his body. The condition of the disabled man is getting worse day by day,” lawyer Karmen Poghosyan told A1+. The lawyer is going to file a motion requesting to separate the case. If the trial is interrupted or adjourned for a long time, then we shall have another [Vahan] Shirkhanyan. He has serious mobility problems and the treatment is still in progress,” the lawyer added. Hardly had the court hearing started today at Yerevan’s Kentron and Nork-Marash Administrative Court, when it was adjourned again, already for the sixth time, because Vahan Shirkhanyan was not brought to court. Shirkhanya, a former Deputy Minister of Defense, has asked for a stretcher as he is unable to walk. The next sitting is slated for March 17.
