Money allocated to Ministry of Economy is not enough - Minister (video)
"The Ministry of Economy has to work in 30 directions and steps should be taken to develop them but the allocated funds are not enough to fully implement the work,” says Artsvik Minasyan, a representative of the Armenian Revolutionary Fedetation –Dashnaktsutyun, who was appointed Armenia’s Minister of Economy seven months ago. He says great work has been done in the past several months to eliminate and remove barriers to investments. Also, a number of proposals have been done. “We need to have e centre where an investor can apply to inform that he is encountering a problem. The centre should deal with the rights of investors,” said the Dashnak Minister. Artsvik Minasyan says negotiations are underway with several foreign investors to build a copper smelter in Armenia. “The Chinese side has been presented an investment program. Successful work in progress and I think there will be major investments by the Chinese. Work is in progress and I think China will make major investments in Armenia in the near future,” he said. “When an exporter or producer from Armenia wants to sell goods in Russia and suffers losses due to fluctuations in the ruble exchange rate, we offer him the following: he can take a loan from a bank of the country and in the currency of the country where he is selling the goods. After the sale, he can get the money again in the currency of the given country and pay his loan,” the minister added.
