Deputy Prime Minister: Government also wants to see corrupt officials in the street
Support A1+!I do not think that the capital outflow from Armenia is too great, especially when compared with Russia or other countries, Armenia's Deputy Prime Minister Vache Gabrielyan told journalists before the start of the Pan-Armenian Forum of Young Businessmen. Speaking about the fight against corruption, Vache Gabrielyan said that there are two opposing opinions in this regard. "When you talk about fight against corruption, people immediately want to some officials ousted from their posts but there is also a systemic approach which eliminates the risks of corruption,” he said adding that the government has chosen that very approach. In reply to a journalist’s observation whether the government does not want to dismiss corrupt officials, the Deputy PM said, “The government wants, but the government does not want to make a fetish of it.” Talking about investments, Vache Gabrielyan stressed that investments are also being made in the agricultural sector because there is a demand for agricultural products. He added that Investments in this area are being made not only from Russia, but also from the Middle East. At the same time, Mr. Gabrielyan added that it is not the best time for investments, given regional, economic and geopolitical developments.
