Investigator visits Artak Khachatryan in hospital
The investigation into the February 9 attack on citizen Artak Khachatryan continues at the Investigation Department of Yerevan’s Kentron and Nork Marasah administrative districts, reports the Investigative Committee of Armenia. “Given the public interest in the incident, we inform you that Artak Khachatryan has been recognized as an injured party. Also, an investigator visited him today at the medical centre where Khachatryan is being treated to interrogate him in connection with the Saturday incident. Earlier, doctors said Khachatryan was unable to give testimony because of the injuries he sustained during the attack. Police have been assigned to find out whether there were surveillance cameras installed near the site of the incident and send the video, if available, to the investigative body. Artak Khachatryan was attacked at around 12, February 9, in the neighbourhood of an entertainment centre in Yerevan. Three armed men wearing masks forced Khachatryan into a car and drove away with him. Later, Khachatryan was found unconscious, near his home. A criminal case has been filed in connection with the incident. An investigation is underway.
