Residents of several communities of hail-stricken Armavir province have again closed Armavir-Gyumri roadway, demanding a meeting with the Minister of Agriculture.

The residents of Hatsik, Myasnikyan and Khanjyan communities complain of low purchase prices that procurers offer them for the apricot harvest.

The angered villagers say that procuring companies are dictating their prices, offering 200-250 drams per kg.
Following his recent visit to Spayka Company, Minister of Agriculture Sergo Karapetyan told reporters that procuring companies pay 400-500 drams per one kg of apricot. His statement angered villagers who announced the next day that they are selling apricot for 250-300 drams per kg.

The residents are now waiting for the Ministry representatives to discuss the problem, Armavir's ALT TV reports.
