Armenian PM listens to freedom fighters' concerns
Armenia's Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan received on June 7 the freedom fighters who were protesting in front of the government's building on June 6.
Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Artem Asatryan was also present at the meeting.
The head of the government listened to the problems of the freedom fighters and discussed the possibilities of their settlement, got familiarized with the package of proposals they presented.
To make the state assistance targeted, the premier assigned the defense ministry to study the lists of freedom fighters involved in different social projects and carry out the necessary adjustments.
The guests said that besides social issues they are also concerned about the inappropriate attitude of the society towards them which creates an atmosphere of demoralization. They pointed out the wrong response of the press towards their concerns. The group said they want to draw the government's attention to them.
As a sign of attention, the freedom fighters offered to establish a Day of Freedom Fighters in Armenia. The interlocutors also discussed issues of patriotic upbringing, establishment of a Museum of Freedom Fighters.
At the end of the meeting, the Armenian premier promised to raise the discussed issues in the government and try to find necessary solutions which they will discuss with the freedom fighters at the next meeting.
