Dead but alive
On June 19, 1992, writer-publicist, freedom fighter Suren Sargsyan was celebrating his second birthday. His friends say that he is the only dead freedom fighter who is alive.
In summer of 1992 their battalion was to liberate two villages of Aghdam region. Before that, Suren Sargsyan had sent home part of his personal things. It coincided with the transportation of his two friends' bodies who had been shot in fight. One of the bodies was almost impossible to recognize.
"My family thought it was my corpse. When I called them, they were all crying", he recalls.
He told his family that he was alive on the phone. "My father answered the call and it was the first time I heard him cry".
When he came back home, he was told of all the obituaries about himself.
