"A1+" was banned from air but was not lost
"Good day, the main broadcast of Ayb-Fe is on air".
With these words already five years the staff of "A1 +" responsible for news broadcasting welcomes its loyal audience.
On April 2, 2002 the audience saw its welcoming team for the last time.
The signal of "A1 +"was seen on television for the last time.
TV and Radio National Broadcasting Commission headed by Grigor Amalyan banned "A1+" from air without taking into account public opinion and public debates and protests preceding April 2.
"A1 +" was banned from air, but was not closed. It continues to be loyal to its principles and to its TV-viewers, nowadays already including its readers and Internet users for "A1+" web-site.
"Watch us, know you" ...
"Read us, know you"...
This slogan has accompanied "A1 +" already fifteen years. It is not just a slogan, but a Credo for each journalist of "A1 +".
After the banning of "A1 +" TV-viewers and independent people stood up and demanded to review the commission's decision. Demonstrations, marches, rallies including thousand of people...The political opposition added to its requirements directed to the authorities the claim to return "A1 +".
However "A1 +" continued its primary mission even there were some hours left before the banning and after it releasing live-stream broadcasting via special monitor located in from Freedom Square.
In 2008, "A1 +" won in European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR) but even that circumstance did not make any difference for the authorities:
Exactly eleven years "A1 +" is deprived of the opportunity to have its own air and channel.
But modern technologies did not allow to silence "A1 +".
"A1 +" was the first to make on line news website and first Internet TV in Armenia creating an online platform for free and independent speech.
Today in every 30 minutes on online TV of "A1 +" the daily news is presented with the latest and most objective information. The website is updated constantly, even on weekends.
Besides from Monday to Friday "Ayb-Fe" is broadcasted in "Arm News" TV channel.
