Republican MP: It would be nice if we had female premier
On International Women's Day, Larisa Alaverdyan first of all remembers the women living in frontier villages and Artsakh who do not force their husbands and sons to flee from danger.
"This is a day of struggle," she says. "Women should be involved in all spheres of life. If they realize their importance, potential, role and liabilities, we shall be able to change the image o Armenia," she said.
Republican MP Margarit Yesayan also highlights women's engagement in politics. She believes that the 14 female lawmakers in the National Assembly can play a serious role in politics.
"It would be much better if we had more women in politics. Moreover, it would be good if the president and the prime minister of the country were women," she said.
In reply to A1+ where she saw herself as the country's premier, the Republican lawmaker said, "Why not?"
"A good holiday joke," she hurried to add.
