Serzh Sargsyan, Wilfried Martens discuss election-related issues
Serzh Sargsyan received on Firday President of the Friday European People's Party (EPP) Wilfried Martens who arrived in Armenia to attend the EPP Eastern Partnership summit.
They stressed that although Armenia is a relatively new member of the EPP, it has been effective in its work and is already hosting Eastern Partnership summit.
Serzh Sargsyan and Wilfried Martens said similar meetings give an opportunity to exchange views on Armenia's progress on its way to European integration and strengthen relations between the parties.
Among the significant events of the previous year, Mr Martens pointed out membership of three Armenian parties [Country of Law, Republican Party of Armenia and Heritage] to the European People's Party. He also stressed the conduct of free and fair parliamentary elections in Armenia.
They also referred to the upcoming presidential elections and discussed issues related to cooperation within the Eastern Partnership project.
