Armenian and Azerbaijan FMs to meet in Paris
Armenia's Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian started his official visit to San Jose with a meeting with Costa Rica's Parliament Speaker, Victor Emilio Granados.
The Armenian FM presented the Costa Rican official the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process, stressing that Armenia's approaches are in line with the stance of the international community, which was expressed in the statements of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairing countries, but Azerbaijan has repeatedly rejected these proposals.
« "The more Azerbaijan attempts to maintain the status-quo by hampering the co-chairs' efforts towards resolving the conflict, the more commendable decisions like yesterday's resolution passed by Australia's New South Wales state will be adopted to pave way to the international recognition of the Nagorno-Karabakh," said Minister Edward Nalbanian.
Later in the day, the Armenian official met with the chairman of Costa Rican parliament's Standing Committee on International Relations and Foreign Trade, Maria Jeannette Ruiz Delgado, and Foreign Minister Enrique Castillo Barrantes.
The interlocutors exchanged views on expanding political dialogue, inter-parliamentary relations, economic and cultural ties. In this context, they agreed on elaborating documents for accrediting resident ambassadors and appointing honorary consuls in Yerevan and San Jose, expanding the legal-contractual cooperation, establishing a closer partnership in international organizations and facilitation of visa regime. The sides agreed to sign documents in the course of Costa Rican FM's visit to Yerevan.
Finishing his visit to the Latin American states, Edward Nalbandian headed for Paris where he is scheduled to meet on Saturday Azerbaijani Foreign Minister and the co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group.
