Eastern Partnership countries hold first session
The ministers of the Eastern Partnership held their first unofficial dialogue in Kishnev on June 5.
Among the participants were the representatives of the Eastern Partnership-member countries, including Armenia, Georgia, Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova and Azerbaijan, as well as EU Commissioner for Enlargement and Neighborhood Policy Stefan Fule and high-ranking officials of the European Foreign Affairs Service. The Armenian delegation was headed by RA Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Zohrab Mnatsakanyan.
The participants of the meeting discussed the reforms that took place in the partnering countries following the Eastern Partnership Summit held in Warsaw in September 2011 and the development of a "Road Map" of the Eastern Partnership. Views were exchanged on the measures to be taken before the next summit to be held within the framework of the Partnership in 2013.
In his speech, RA Deputy Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan welcomed this new format for multilateral cooperation, which can serve as an additional efficient platform for periodic exchange of information and the presentation of joint initiatives. The deputy minister touched upon the reforms taking place in Armenia, the current state of Armenia-EU relations and the perspectives of the Eastern Partnership.
During the meeting, Mnatsakanyan had bilateral meetings with his counterparts and EU officials.
