Mayor meets Ambassador
Mayor of Yerevan Taron Margaryan today met UK Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Armenia Catherine Jane Lich. According to the Department of Information and Public Relations of Yerevan Municipality, "Cogratulating the Ambassador on assuming the diplomatic mission in Armenia, Taron Margaryan wished success in the strengthening and development of Armenian-British relations. Taron Margaryan also mentioned that despite the high level of bilateral ties, there haven't been any partnering ties between Yerevan and British cities. "I am certain that that gap will be filled with the Ambassador's active support," the mayor said.
Ambassador Lich asked about the development programs in Yerevan and set aside her interest particularly in the spheres of nature protection and monument conservation. In response, the mayor briefly presented the strategy on the development of Yerevan and the program priorities.
"I am certain that the exchange of experience between Yerevan and British cities in the sphere of local self-governance will be mutually useful and will contribute to the strengthening, development and expansion of mutual ties," Taron Margaryan mentioned, adding that the municipality is willing to discuss and implement mutually beneficial programs.
"I am pleased to see that our views fall in line in this sense and am certain that we will see the results soon," the Ambassador mentioned.
