President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mahmoud Ahmadinejad arrived in Armenia on Friday on an official visit.

At Zvartnots Airport he was welcomed by Serzh Sargsyan and ministers.According to the order, the Presidents shook hands with the guests and people who came to welcome them.

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad shook hands with Armenian ministers with the exception of Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan, whom he greeted with a bow of head.

Presidents of Armenia and Iran later had a private meeting at the Presidential Palace.

A meeting with Armenian journalists is not included in the agenda of the Iranian President's visit.

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was expected to visit Armenia in summer but the visit was canceled for some technical reasons.
