FREDA holds session

The board of trustees of the Foundation for Rural Economic Development in Armenia (FREDA) today held a subsequent session in government headed by Prime Minister, chairman of the board of trustees Tigran Sargsyan. The first issue on the agenda was the financial reports and independent audit conclusion presented by the FREDA's independent audit organization regarding finance and economy in Armenia in 2010.

Director of the foundation Tigran Khanikyan presented the draft plan for strategic development of the Foundation for Rural Economic Development in Armenia for 2011-2015. The plan envisages the main approaches and principles of FREDA's activities in the next five years with the main purpose of assisting enterprises in villages, the employees and the suppliers. He informed that in 2011, the total amount of the investment portfolio makes up 1.6 billion RA drams for implementing programs in the sphere of reprocessing agricultural products, particularly milk production, fruit and vegetable conserves, wine production, poultry, fishing and reprocessing, as well as refrigerator and thermal home creation.

The board of trustees decided to include a new member in the FREDA Investments Committee and make adequate changes in the Investments Committee's rules and regulations. Prime Minister Sargsyan assigned the board members to present proposals for a possible candidate and discussed the issue of making changes in the board of trustees, reports the RA Government's press service.
