Social

“There couldn’t be any national progress without a serious religious basis”, priest Mesrop Aramyan said today at “Religion and Church Role in Armenian Nation Life” seminar. Church officials, scientists, international and local organisations’ and parties’ activists took part at the seminar.

Speaking on peculiarities of Armenian religion and its uniting role, Aramyan said millions of Armenians have sacrificed their lives to save their religion for ages. In his words, Armenian Apostolic religion never had time to plunge into stagnation or corruption. There was absolutely no difference between Christians of various regions of Armenia or those living out of Armenia.

Archimandrite Baghrat Galstyan also emphasised important role of religion in his speech saying any discord – be it political or spiritual - can be settled through belief.

The issue on sectarian movement and those Armenians abandoned their belief was also discussed at the seminar.
