According to the data of innumerable surveys, in 8 from 44 CE member-countries, 30% of leading positions held by women. In 5 countries, including Armenia, the problems of women are equated with the problems of ethnic minorities, despite women make the majority of the republic population, the CE representative Daniele Levi-Push said at the "Process of Democratisation and Women Rights" two-day seminar.

The CE Committee, engaged in the gender issues, intends to submit to CE Parliamentary Assembly a proposal stipulated that all those who want to become members of this structure ought to sign women-related protocols.
