UNREGISTERED, YET OBSERVER
Support A1+!Today head of the NGO “Supreme Council” Ruben Torosyan made an announcement about the decision of the Referendum Central Committee head Garegin Azaryan’s decision that refused to register the representatives of the NGO as local observers during the referendum.
We applied to the RCC and learned the reasons of refusal – the regulations of the organization do not correspond to the RA Law on NGOs. According to the Law, the name of the organization cannot contain the words «National Assembly, Supreme Council, Government, Ministry, Court, etc», in order not to make them similar to the names of the state structures.
Nevertheless, the NGO “Supreme Council” reached its aim by some other way. Ruben Torosyan and his people were registered as observers as representatives of another NGO – «Armenian Parliamentarism Center».
