GAINING AT EXPENSE OF ARMENIANS FROM GEORGIA
Support A1+!Today mini bases conveying people from Javakhk to Armenia were kept at the Armenian customs point of Bavra at the Armenian-Georgian border for about 5 hours. The Armenian customs officers said that for entering Armenia a special interparliamentary agreement or 37 thousand AMD entry payment is needed.
As reported by A-Info, the behavior of the customs officers roused the indignation of the drivers and passengers. To note, the Georgian party demands no agreement or payments.
At the end of 2004 the Georgian parliament adopted a new tax code providing for lower taxes imposed on the foreign citizens at entering Georgia. (The maximal payment makes 10 Lari)
The residents of Javakhk expected the Armenian parliament to pass a corresponding decision proceeding first of all from the interests of the RA citizens and people of Javakhk. But since May 1 the vehicles entering Armenia should pay 37 thousand drams instead of former 21 thousand.
