THE ARMENIANS OF NOVOROSSIYSK ARE WORRIED
Support A1+!The incidents of Novorossiysk on March 22 can be qualified are a number of destructions in a specific part of the city. Alla Partsikyan, member of the Armenian culture center «Luys», coordinator of the Novorossiysk National minorities informs about it.
She also confirmed the earlier information that the reason for the conflict was the incident in one of the town cafes the previous night. A group of Armenian and Greek young people were celebrating a birthday party, when the Cossacks with Vladimir Petrushin, ataman of the Cossack union of the town, at the head, approached them. During the fighting which started almost immediately, the ataman was heavily wounded. But this everyday incident became reason for the Cossacks to harm Armenians.
According to the same source, in the evening of March 22 groups of Cossacks «invaded» Novorossiysk from the region of Krasnodar and organized destructions in the district of the above mentioned café. Several cars were broken and people suffered. It is known that a criminal case has been brought according to the 111th (heavy corporal injuries) and 213th (hooliganism) articles of the Criminal Code.
Although Partsikyan expressed confidence that those guilty will be punished, as far as both the city administration and the law enforcement bodies have taken all the measures to prevent the results of the conflict, the Armenians of Novorossiysk are worried and keep calling “Luys” asking if they can allow their children to go to school.
According to our information, today the joint meeting of the representatives of the Krasnodar region Armenian community, the Cossacks, the law enforcement bodies and the city administration will take place.
