Realizing the challenges to security and stability in the South Caucasus and the Black Sea coast caused by the unsettled conflicts available in Eurasia the US and EU speak out for territorial integrity of Moldova, Georgia and Azerbaijan and contribute to the international efforts for peaceful political settlement of conflicts in Pridnestrovye, South Ossetia, Abkhazia and Nagorno Karabakh.

In Georgia the US and EU closely cooperated to assist the smooth transition to the new government of the country after the rose revolution. We continue working together and support aspiration of Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia for further integration into the European Atlantic community. The EU New Neighborhood Policy and Partnership for Peace NATO program promote the common with Europe values and strengthen the ties between the South Caucasus and sustainable democracies of the European states.

In Ukraine we joined our efforts to contribute to free and fair presidential elections in 2004. In Byelorussia the US and EU were implementing coordination policy and sent a joint diplomatic group to Minsk in 2004 what served as a signal of democratization and imposed restrictions upon the trips of the officials involved malfeasances during the elections and violations of human rights . Similar policy is pursued in Moldova thus contributing to a fair campaign for the parliamentary elections to be held March 6.
