AN OLD FAIRY-TALE ABOUT TRANSPARENT ELECTIONS
Support A1+!Hovik Abrahamyan, Minister of local governing bodies, promised the journalists today that this year the elections of local governing bodies will be free, just, and transparent. One of the journalists asked if they will be freer and juster than in 2002, and Hovik Abrahamyan said jokingly, «Yes, the electoral boxes will be larges this time».
Hovik Abrahamyan announced that they are not concerned who will be elected head of the community, «the main thing is to be clever, to know the community, to be accepted by people: the fewer problems the head of the community has, the fewer problems the regional governor will have».
By the way, Hovik Abrahamyan also announced that it makes no difference whether the head of the community will represent the coalition or the opposition. As for the question how it happens that the opposition which makes the 20% of the Parliament, is so badly represented in the system of local government, Hovik Abrahamyan said that is it the result of the opposition's bad work in the regions.
