Support A1+!Upon completion of the PACE session Armenian National Assembly deputy Shavarsh Kocharyan analyzed the mistakes the Armenian diplomats made . In the deputy's opinion, Armenia is constantly contradicting herself. “We are taking steps as if playing into Azerbaijan’s hands”, he said.
To prove his words Kocharian notes that on Armenian Army Day President Robert Kocharyan and Defense Minister Serge Sargsyan are going to the Karabakh trenches while NKR Defense Minister is standing behind their back. “So how can one after all this prove that the territory is not under control of the Armenian Armed Forces”, the Armenian deputy continues.
By the way, Shavarsh Kocharyan is sure that before 1994 the international community favored Armenia on the Karabakh issue. The situation changed in 1995, “when Armenia being the most democratic state in the region yielded her ''outpost'' to other states”, he added.
According to Shavarsh Kocharyan Armenia's great mistake lies in the fact that neither first Armenian President Levon Ter-Petrosyan nor anyone from the Armenian party has recognized the Nagorno Karabakh Republic so far. This is the difference Shavarsh Kocharyan puts between the Karabakh conflict and other regional conflicts. The problem is that after the collapse of the USSR 16 republics but not 15 were formed. Nagorno Karabakh declared about its independence just at that time.
