OSKANYAN IS A CAREFUL OPTIMIST
Support A1+!”No one can act against his national interests”, Armenian FM Vardan Oskanyan has announced at today’s press conference referring to the settlement process of Karabakhi conflict.
”Through the positive interference of Minsk Group and cooperating with Azerbaijan we managed to remove obstacles recently emerged on the way of resuming negotiations”, FM appraised the present situation with “careful optimism”.
Talking about the meeting of OSCE Foreign Ministers in Sofia on December 6-7, Oskanyan said that under the decision made on Nagorno Karabakh “Prague Process” was appreciated positively there. Armenian and Azerbaijani Presidents were suggested to accept as basis the negotiations cycle introduced by them in September, 2004, in Astana. Azerbaijani press asserts that Karabakhi issue will be settled in a stage version.
A journalist asked if Minister refuted the fact. Oskanyan gave an evasive answer. He just said that the negotiations pass 2 ways – one as it is and the next as it is represented to the public.
Vardan Oskanyan expressed discontent that the Armenian press is obscure and it is not clear what version the Armenian society adheres to – stage, package or mixed. Oskanyan is sure that Parliament has a leading role in representing the public opinion over Nagorno Karabakh since MPs are the elected representatives of the people.
