ELECTORAL REFOMRS PAVING THE WAY FOR NEW ELECTORAL FRAUDS

Politics

The bill on “Making changes and amendments to the Electoral Code” passed at the first stage in Parliament caused various political powers to appear with statements. Department of “Human Rights and Democracy” Party has released a statement over the issue.

”We consider it a duty to remind that not long ago the same Authorities unanimously with OSCE Observers’ mission tried to convince our society that Armenian Electoral Code provides conducting legal elections. We completely agree to it and prove it through the results of our 2-year-long post-electoral activity.

We are sure that instead of calling the breakers to account those initiating and supporting changes to the Electoral Code not only try to hide the causes and consequences of election frauds but also pave the way for committing new kinds of vote frauds in coming elections.

We think that people of Armenia have a great potential for holding lawful elections like those in 1990. To do that it is necessary to find and punish all the breakers of 2003 elections”.
