EUROPE DOESN’T LIKE US

Politics

Armenian communist Party’s former member Khoren Sargssyan said Friday in an interview with our correspondent he thinks superpowers don’t like Armenia.

Answering a question related to the PACE Thursday’s report on fulfillment CE commitments by Armenia, Sargssyan said it would be better for Armenia if it is mentioned rarely in Europe. “We are involved in a game”, he said. In his words, sectarianism, homosexuality and maltreatment of parents are imposed on Armenia from the outside and taken by Armenian authorities tolerantly.

“The authorities justify it by saying they are complying with Europe demands. At the same time, to shield themselves from the CE democracy-related criticism they say it is their domestic problem”, the former Communist said.

In his opinion, the nation should stop relying to support from outside support. He said Armenians’ should remember their former experience that taught them a bitter lesson. “Our grandfathers kicked the Europe door yet 300 years ago but in vain: they gained nothing but the filling of dissatisfaction and disgust”, Sargssyan said.
