SCHIEDER OPOSED TO PUTIN’S ELECTION REFORMS
Support A1+!On Monday, PACE chair Peter Schieder, speaking at a news conference in Strasbourg, criticized Russian president Vladimir Putin’s election reforms saying they didn’t correspond to democratic principles.
According to Putin’s amendments to electoral code, provinces’ governors will no longer be elected. They’ll be appointed. Russian president sees the reforms as part of struggle against terrorism.
