ISSUE OF ARMENIA’S COMMITMENTS IS STILL ACTUAL

Politics

Tigran Torosyan, Vice-Speaker of Armenian Parliament and the head of the Armenian delegation in PACE thinks Armenia has fulfilled the PACE commitments, especially those stated in N 1374 resolution of April.

Though “A1+” TV Company problem wasn’t settled and the demand is still making a plank in PACE resolution, Mr. Torosyan didn’t speak about the point.

He only said that Commission for conducting monitoring of implementation of commitments “considers that it hasn’t received any acceptable answer from the Armenian Authorities why those guilty for the vote frauds in 2003 elections hadn’t yet been punished”.

Under PACE January resolution on Armenia, 1-year-long term was set for fulfillment of the planks in the January one. Not all the planks of January resolution are accomplished.

The report of Commission for conducting monitoring of implementation of commitments was entered on the agenda for PACE October session. It is under approval.

Tigran Torosyan thinks it will be wiser that the issue of implementation of Armenia’s commitments is discussed in January session when the accurate account for obligation fulfillment will be given.

However, Torosyan assures that the coming hearing of the issue doesn’t scare Armenia.
