TO BE CLOSER TO EUROPEAN UNION

Politics

On June 14, European Union’s Foreign Relations Council decided to include three South Caucasus countries in the EU European Neighborhood Initiative.

On Friday, European Commission Delegation Attache Jaque Vantom and German Ambassador to Armenia Hans-Voulf Bartels, who is also the EU representative, speaking at a news conference in Yerevan said each of the countries would be given the same opportunities to develop relations with the EU.

Vantom said final project would take force in three years. After that, in 2007, financial program can be put into reality.

The program is rather political than economic, Bartels added.
