“STEVEN MANN DIDN’T BRING SUGGESTIONS”, JOHN ORDWAY CONVINCING

Politics

”We haven’t yet offered suggestions to the sides”, USA Ambassador to Armenia John Ordway officially refuted the rumors that OSCE Minsk Group American Co-Chair Steven Mann had put forward suggestions over Karabakhi conflict settlement at his visit to Armenia.

According to Mr. Ordway, it’s now early to speak about the final regulation of the conflict. He assured he didn’t possess the details about the formal meetings of Armenian Foreign Minister Vardan Oskanyan in USA. Ambassador supposed that the meeting had positive results.

Ordway thinks progress in the negotiation process of Karabakhi conflict will be made during the meeting between Armenian and Azerbaijani FMs in Hague. “Karabakhi negotiation process just resumes after the elections in both states. We think both parts are resolute for peaceful settlement of the conflict and we are ready to support it”, Mr. Ordway says.

Ambassador is concerned about the recent conflicts on Armenian-Azerbaijani frontier. “OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs have met the Presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan. We have urged both sides to be more restrained to keep the truce”, Ordway stated.

John Ordway denied the rumors that OSCE Minsk Group has exhausted itself in Karabakhi conflict. “Just the visits of Steven Mann prove that Minsk Group is occupied with serious activity”.

John Ordway assured that USA Government, including other organizations doesn’t finance the Opposition in Armenia. “There is only one organization, MBI that holds political courses for both Opposition and Authorities”, he says.

At the end of the conference Mr. Ordway reminded that it was his next to last conference. At the end of July Ordway’s diplomatic legation in Armenia will be over and he will leave for Kazakhstan.
