PACE REPORT DOESN’T PROVIDE AN OSTRICH POLICY
Support A1+!”In fact, “A1+” was deprived of the broadcasting license under the legislation approved in correspondence with CE demands”, politician Agassi Enoqyan said during the seminar-discussion on N 1374 resolution Parliamentary Assembly of Council of Europe passed on April 28, 2004.
According to Mr. Enoqyan, when our Authorities try to find justifications for their non-democratic actions, they say it is the demand of Europe. “Naturally, Europe wouldn’t like to cooperate much with such a member”, politician says.
Enoqyan says a month has passed since the report was adopted but no plank was met. An attempt was made to enter into a dialogue, which couldn’t produce results as PACE demands the Armenian Authorities to obey Laws.
He also says it is the duty of Authorities to keep within laws and it is beyond dialogue. That’s why the dialogue failed.
Authorities will again drag out, trying to prove a part of problems will soon be solved but their “task” is not to perform and to find some excuses, Enoqyan says.
He says Armenia proves through its actions it doesn’t respect the European values.
MP Shavarsh Kocharyan is more optimistic. “Armenia is facing the most important task now. Armenia now passes the way called European integration. I see progress. Armenian people are ready to live by European standards. It is very significant that the social sector is obligatory towards any Authorities”, Shavarsh Kocharyan says.
If no progress till September sitting is fixed, Assembly will discuss commission of Armenian delegations.
