”Competition in our region increased so it is necessary to mobilize the efforts of all the Armenians to work more efficiently and to achieve positive results for welfare of our people”, Armenian Foreign Affairs Minister Vardan Oskanyan announced after the meeting with the Armenian businessmen from Diaspora.
On May 3-4 in the framework of Armenia-Diaspora conference a meeting a Working Group of Information Distribution with participation of Armenian individuals and organizations from America and Europe took place in Yerevan.
”It was a useful meeting”, Minister said adding that the meeting participants were introduced to the recent developments and key tasks of the Armenian foreign policy.
”I wouldn’t call those men lobbyists. They are just people who form a right stance towards Armenia in proper states and being citizens of those countries pose issues to the states combining the interests of both Armenia and their states”, Minister explained.
5 issues – security, development, European integration, peaceful settlement of NKR conflict and reservation of our historical rights and values were underlined as priorities of the foreign policy of Armenia and discussed.
As to the recent statement of Azerbaijani FM “over return of territories”, Vardan Oskanyan said: “I don’t want to comment on those statements. I will just say that Kocharyan-Aliev meeting was not a bad one and it will have continuation. It shows promise that it is possible to find points of contacts as a result of negotiations”.
